O Hello Media’s Nonprofit and Charity Initiative

The Work Wholeheartedly Project

This initiative grew out of one of our six core values; it's our way of giving back to the community and you, our clients, by donating photography coverage to a charity or nonprofit experiential event. Each quarter we select an event to donate our services to.

Have a charity or cause that's close to your heart that you’d like us to consider covering?

Denver PlayWorks at Mile High

April 8, 2023

This April we partnered with Denver PlayWorks for our quarterly Work Wholeheartedly Project and we couldn’t be happier to participate. This was their first fundraising event since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Denver PlayWorks mission is a local non-profit, who’s mission is to help kids stay active and develop their social skills through play. We are ecstatic that we’re able to participate in their fundraiser to support our local Denver communities!

The Fundraiser was lively and featured an auction that offered Denver Broncos memorabilia. All attendees we’re encouraged to bring out their favorite sneakers, you can’t play in dress shoes after all!

Bal Swan Children’s Center

March 15, 2022

In February, we captured our Q1 Work Wholeheartedly recipient, Bal Swan's, impactful story at their annual ball.

Bal Swan Children's Center builds a social-emotional foundation and nurtures an inclusive learning community where each child and family grows and belongs!

The ball was an evening packed with action including world-renowned opera singer Michelle DeYoung and prize-winning comedian Sam Adams, a silent and live auction, and a light-hearted casino.

Our team captured the essence of the event every step of the way from the entertainment and candid shots of the attendees, to the step and repeat and environmental images.

It’s Giving Season

December 8, 2020

It’s been quite a year and we are so grateful for the impact affected in 2020 through people’s commitment to show up for others. From the inventive ways our industry has shown resilience to the outpour of support for causes that inspire change.

For us, you supported our content creators out of work by purchasing art from our print shop, cheered us on as we launched O Hello Ideas and continually connected with genuine care.

So we decided to pay it forward this giving season by donating to organizations that mean something to our clients and friends as a part of our Work Wholeheartedly project. We were inspired and touched by the responses we received to our outreach. Check out the list of organizations we donated to on our client’s behalf and get involved yourself!

WholeheARTedly Initiative

April 14th, 2020

Here at O Hello Media, we refer to our team as DUCKS. If it sounds like we’re rolling into a scene from one of Emilio Estevez’ greatest films of all time, maybe you’re right…queue the Mighty Ducks video.

To ‘Operate Like a Duck’ has been one of O Hello Media’s core values from the beginning; “our hustle propels us forward while we glide with grace above water.” This phrase is so apropos to the events industry within which we operate, but here we are in the middle of a pandemic and our quirky core value now takes on a different meaning.

Our shutter speed went from rapid fire to zero in a flash, as the health crisis has forced our team to put down their cameras. So, yes, we are hustling gracefully to do what we can to keep O Hello Media around for the rebound, but we are also now taking steps to support our “flock.”

This quarter, we’re focusing our Work Wholeheartedly Project inward, to support our photographers & videographers for as long as the effects of the pandemic are having an impact on them.

We’re tapping into their incredible talents, and have pulled together a collection of their photographic works for purchase that represent a slice in time that sparked their inspiration; from their travels, adventures, times of stillness and moments of happiness.

EYES WIDE OPEN FOUNDATION MEDIA DAY

January 28, 2020

Kicking off the O Hello Media Work Wholeheartedly Project strong in 2020 with the Eyes Wide Open Foundation Media Day. Our founder + CEO, Taryn, met the founder of EWO, Stephen James, standing in line to board a plane after noticing that they had both flown in and out of LA in the same day. The two quickly made a connection and opted to sit next to one another for the flight; during which Taryn learned all about the incredible work EWO is doing to open doors for youth in media. We have so much gratitude for what Stephen and his organization are doing and jumped at the opportunity to support their efforts by photographing their media symposium event in Miami. The EWO creates opportunities for excellence through internships, career development strategies and by cultivating "Oh My God" moments that translate into thriving careers.

Join Eyes Wide Open in their commitment to maximizing and utilizing the untapped potential of students to excel in the sports media industry by creating a pathway to personal and professional success.

THE DENVER SANTA PUB CRAWL

December 7th, 2019

Ho, ho, hooray for our end of year photography coverage donation charity of choice! In its 18th year, The Denver Santa Pub Crawl has grown from its humble beginnings with a handful of attendees to over 2,000 Santas, elves, Ms. Claus etc. Collecting hundreds of toys each year that help The Denver Santa Claus Shop and thousands of families.

The day of holiday cheer and beer has collected over $100,000 from the sale of tickets and donations throughout the years to help local kids and underserved families.

When asked what’s the one thing that they’ve learned over the years? Answer: Doing a good thing does not always have to be a sacrifice.

It was such a special experience to connect with those of you who submitted charities for us to donate to and hear the stories of why these causes are close to your heart. We can't thank you enough for participating and showing us how you #WorkWholeheartedly.

GLOBAL ORPHAN PREVENTION: PASSPORT2FREEDOM GALA

August 24th, 2019

Our first Work Wholeheartedly Project event couldn’t have been more perfect to kick off the program. It was a night to remember where guest were submerged in an experiential event where their sensory channels were activated, creating an emotional connection to the cause.

Guests were treated to delicacies and libations from around the world while visiting creative art installations that educate on what it takes for Nepali women and girls to be free, earning a stamp in their “passport” for the evening.

The purpose of the event was to raise funds to build a Girls' Empowerment Center & Dormitory in Nepal reducing the 25% of adolescent girls that are trafficked to India each year for prostitution, as well as seed the Denver Anti-Child Trafficking Program! Which will break ground in Fall of this year.

The Global Orphan Prevention strives to keep mothers and children together through economic development, awareness, and educational opportunity. The evening netted around $95K for the organization, exceeding the goal for the night, and achieving something unheard of for a first-year gala. Check out the full event details and success in the nonprofit’s Partnership Report.

WHY WORK WHOLEHEARTEDLY?

One of O Hello Media's 6 core values is to Work Wholeheartedly. For us, this means that in everything we do collaboratively and independently, we give it our all and do so with integrity and earnest commitment. We follow through by creating intentions and acting upon them. If we slip, we own up and create a plan for how to move forward.

The Work Wholeheartedly Project grew specifically out of our intention for earnest commitment, as it is with our whole hearts that we support good causes that further the betterment of our world. The organizations that we aim to support have stories to tell, and it is our privilege to have the ability to help spread them through imagery.

We Care About Your Cause!
